PROGRAM
Day 1 Lake Bled and Vintgar Gorge
We leave Prague at 6:00 (meeting point Vaclavske nam) We will sit down in our comfortable and convenient car and set off. The drive will take 7 hours, on the way we will stop, stretch, drink coffee.
After lunch we will cross the border with Slovenia and here begins our main program.
The first place we want to show you is the beautiful Vintgar gorge. An easy but very picturesque walk along a rushing river awaits us, we will walk among the rocks on an atmospheric wooden path directly above the water. For centuries, the Radovna River has eroded and worn away the soft limestone rocks in this part of Slovenia. The result of this painstaking work is an amazing collection of sparkling waterfalls, bubbling rapids and quiet watercourses surrounded by dizzying 100-meter-high cliffs. This is the Vintgar Gorge.
After an enchanting hike we will drive to one of the most famous and beautiful lakes in Slovenia, indeed in Europe - Lake Bled.
Here we will have time to walk and enjoy the view, have dinner and watch the sunset.
We move to the place of accommodation.
Day 2 Lake Bohinj, Ljubljana, Piran. From mountains to sea
We have breakfast and go to Lake Bohinj.
Lake Bohinj is located in the heart of the Triglav National Park, one of the oldest national parks in Europe, it is the largest natural lake in Slovenia, over which inaccessible mountain peaks rise. After walking along the coast and taking beautiful photos, we will go to the Savica waterfall, one of the most charming in Slovenia. A pleasant half-hour trekking awaits us, at the end of which, an unusual, beautiful waterfall with turquoise water will appear before us.
After breathing in the fresh air and having a good walk, we will go to the capital of Slovenia - Ljubljana. We will have lunch at a local restaurant and explore the city. Ljubljana is quite small but infinitely charming, its narrow streets, tiled roofs, hills and dragons make this city very pleasant for walking and especially attractive for photographers.
Saying goodbye to the capital, we go to the Adriatic Sea. Today we will visit Piran. Its old town is one of the best preserved historical centers among all the cities of the Adriatic, a real gem of Venetian architecture. An amazing atmosphere reigns in Piran, as if you find yourself in another century, in a bustling Italian town where life is in full swing: small fishing boats go into open water, merchants carry fabrics and spices, and old winding streets confuse and lead you to small restaurants where They serve the freshest fish and local wine. Sunset by the sea.
We will spend the night on the coast.
Day 3 Caves and castle
We wake up and have breakfast overlooking the sea.
Today the day will be no less eventful than yesterday, we are going to explore another miracle of Slovenia - its underground caves.
The Škocjanske Caves are one of the most beautiful cave systems in Slovenia, since 1986 they have been on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The cave system also includes the deepest underground canyon in Europe, 26 waterfalls and many unique karst formations. The caves are striking in their scale. The tour takes about 1.5 hours and leaves a vivid memory for a lifetime.
The next stop on this day will be the Predjama Castle, which literally merged into the rocks, perhaps one of the most unusual castles in Slovenia. It was built right in front of the entrance to a large cave, of which there are many in the Slovenian region of Kras. Hence its name came from - the castle before the pit, in Slovenian - in front of the cave.
After lunch we will start moving towards Prague. Along the way, we will have several more picturesque stops and the beautiful mountain lake Jasna.
