We meet in a cozy coffee shop in Zurich, get acquainted, have breakfast and discuss plans for the week.
After getting acquainted, we move to one of the most famous towns in Switzerland, we will go to the city that once conquered the heart of Tolkien - Lauterbrunnen (it is also called the valley of 70 waterfalls). It was here that the writer came up with what the city of elves would look like - Rivendell. We will spend the rest of the day in the valley.
We will be able to leisurely drink coffee with dessert in one of the cozy restaurants of this alpine village. We will visit the impressive Trummelbachfelle waterfall - powerful and noisy, flying from a great height in a rocky grotto hidden from view.
In Lauterbrunnen you will have free time. We will tell you where you can go and what to see, perhaps you will decide to just walk along the valley, enjoying its leisurely and fabulous atmosphere, or perhaps go up on one of the funiculars and see the high-mountain villages.
We believe that a trip to Lauterbrunnen is the calling card of Switzerland, so you will have enough time to try to understand this place.
In the evening we move to our cozy apartments, where we will spend the next few days.
DAY 2 Stoos Panoramic Trail: From Klingenstock to Fronalpstock
Today we will take one of the most famous ridge hikes in Switzerland, which will open up epic views of green valleys, cozy alpine villages and white mountain peaks. The route is called Stoos - this is one of the most spectacular places in Central Switzerland. Having climbed the steepest funicular road in the world, we will find ourselves in the alpine village of Stoos at an altitude of about 1,300 meters. From here begins the path along the panoramic ridge between two peaks - Klingenstock (1,935 m) and Fronalpstock (1,922 m).
Stoos is an easy, but very beautiful trail along the ridge; the route is considered one of the most beautiful in Switzerland. During the walk, views of ten lakes and endless lines of the Alps open up. Along the way, you will meet cows that peacefully graze on the slopes, and the quiet ringing of their bells fills the air - real music of the Swiss mountains. In clear weather, you can even see Pilatus and Rigi, the legendary mountains near Lucerne. It will be a long and eventful day in nature: clean air, space and a sense of freedom that only a real Alpine trail gives.
Route length: about 4–5 km, elevation gain about 400 m
DAY 3 Grindelwald - the home of four-thousanders
Today we will dedicate to the most Alpine village of Switzerland, known as the "glacier village". Grindelwald is not just a settlement in a picturesque valley - this is the very picture that comes to mind when we think of Switzerland. Ideal green hills, Alpine cows peacefully grazing in the meadows, beautiful century-old trees, neat houses, high mountains and magnificent glaciers.
A picturesque hike to Lake Planalpsee awaits us, in the water surface of which the white peaks of Eiger and Wetterhorn are reflected in clear weather. This route is filled with the beauty and spirit of the Swiss Alps, here you can see funny marmots whistling to each other about approaching people, watch black birds circling in a flock over a green valley and even find fragile edelweiss flowers - the calling card of the local mountains.
At the end of the route, we will be able to walk along the path above the abyss - the road in the sky - Tisot Clift Volk, drink a refreshing radler in a panoramic restaurant and have a snack with a view of the snow-white four-thousanders.
